Għaxaq Wolves are edging closer to defending the MAFA First Division title they won last season after opening a six-point lead at the top of the standings.
The Wolves registered a comfortable 3–0 victory over Balluta Barracudas, while their closest rivals Marsa St Michael’s suffered a surprising 4–3 defeat against Valletta Stars St Dominic.

Għaxaq Wolves secured a convincing 3–0 win over Balluta Barracudas. They made their intentions clear from the outset and took the lead in the 7th minute through Diego Fernando Pereira, before Andrew Ejike Obetta doubled the advantage in the 22nd minute.

In the second half, the team led by Justin Felice sealed the victory when Stanimir Miloskovic added a third goal.

Marsa St Michael’s vs Valletta Stars St Dominic
Marsa St Michael’s lost ground on leaders Għaxaq after suffering a 4–3 defeat against Valletta Stars St Dominic. The Marsa side had been leading 3–1 but failed to hold on to their advantage as the Valletta outfit mounted a strong comeback to eventually win the match.

Kylian Lucas Steve Deshayes had put Valletta ahead, before Sabri El Mansar in the 20th minute and Nikola Neskovic from the penalty spot in the 29th minute made it 2–1 before half-time.

In the second half, Ayobah Fona extended Marsa’s lead to 3–1, but a brace by Abba Auwal together with a goal from Muhammed Sani Hamza between the 44th and 51st minutes secured victory for Valletta Stars.

Senglea Gunners vs San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy
San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy continued to collect valuable points in their effort to avoid relegation after defeating Senglea Gunners 2–0.

After a goalless first half, the decisive moments came late in the game, with Nino Barrabe opening the scoring on the hour mark and Seni Barlam sealing the win one minute from the end.

Second Division

Attard Edex Kings vs Birżebbuġa St Peter’s AFC
Birżebbuġa St Peter’s AFC registered their second consecutive win in the second round after defeating Attard Edex Kings 2–0.

The hero for the southern side was Oussama Boutayeb, who scored both goals in the 17th and 68th minutes. He is also the league’s top scorer with 10 goals.

Gudja Wanderers vs Mqabba Albions
Mqabba Albions and Gudja Wanderers shared the spoils in a 1–1 draw in a closely contested encounter.

Johan Cassar gave the Albions the lead in the 5th minute, before David Gregory Salines Cassiani equalised in the 34th minute. It was Gudja’s second point in the second round, while Mqabba collected their first point.
