West Ham United rallied to secure a 1-1 draw against Manchester City, ending a seven-match losing streak while boosting their Premier League survival chances and dealing a blow to City’s title ambitions.

Pep Guardiola, serving a touchline ban, watched as his side dominated possession early on, putting the Hammers under pressure. Jarrod Bowen was forced into a defensive challenge against Rayan Ait-Nouri in West Ham’s box, but the hosts defended resolutely, with Omar Marmoush’s free-kick going well wide.

City finally registered a shot on target in the 31st minute when Bernardo Silva received Marmoush’s pass and deftly chipped the ball over Mads Hermansen into the net.

West Ham responded almost immediately. Four minutes later, Konstantinos Mavropanos powered a header from Bowen’s corner off the crossbar and over the line to level the score.

Erling Haaland had a chance to restore City’s lead before halftime after a squared ball to Antoine Semenyo, but the striker’s effort went just wide.

The second half saw West Ham continue to frustrate the visitors. Marmoush’s attempt missed the target, and despite multiple substitutions—including Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku—City struggled to penetrate the claret-and-blue defence. Hermansen made key saves from Haaland, Cherki, and Doku, while Mavropanos blocked shots from Matheus Nunes and Haaland.

Phil Foden and Tijjani Reijnders also came off the bench, but City could not break through. Hermansen tipped Reijnders’ free-kick onto the crossbar and denied Nico O’Reilly’s header, completing a superb performance from the West Ham goalkeeper and backline.

The draw leaves Manchester City nine points behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand, while West Ham gain a crucial point, moving further clear of the relegation zone and extending their unbeaten run to six games across all competitions.
