Tottenham Hotspur F.C. are facing a managerial and goalkeeping crisis as they approach the most crucial weekend of their season. Spurs travel to Liverpool F.C. on Sunday and risk dropping into the relegation zone if results go against them.

A crushing 5–2 defeat to Atlético Madrid has left caretaker manager Igor Tudor expected to lose his job, while the long-term futures of goalkeepers Antonín Kinský and Guglielmo Vicario remain uncertain.

Wednesday’s Champions League trip to Spain was initially considered separate from Tottenham’s Premier League survival fight, but the heavy nature of the defeat has worsened morale across the club. Players and fans alike now head into the Liverpool clash demoralised, with Spurs fighting to avoid relegation to the Championship.

Sources indicate that Tudor’s time in charge is nearing an end, with early talks already underway about who might take over until the season’s conclusion. A run of four consecutive defeats, during which Tottenham have conceded 14 goals, has intensified scrutiny on Tudor and heightened the sense of crisis at the club. After the Atlético defeat, Tudor was asked whether he deserved to continue in charge and replied: “No comment.”

Tudor’s decision to start Kinský ahead of regular first-choice Vicario backfired badly, potentially affecting both goalkeepers’ futures. Vicario, who has been considering a move, looks increasingly likely to return to Italy next season. Meanwhile, Kinský, who was making his Champions League debut, may now face a serious confidence setback as he tries to establish himself at Spurs.

Tottenham are already exploring new goalkeeping options for next season, with two early targets being Bart Verbruggen from Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. and James Trafford from Manchester City F.C..

Before any long-term planning can take place, Spurs must secure their Premier League status. Avoiding relegation would at least allow the club to tackle its major issues and begin rebuilding.

At present, it seems likely that several key players, including Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Pedro Porro, and first-choice goalkeeper Vicario, could leave at the end of the season, making a turbulent summer almost inevitable.
