Manchester United are closely monitoring the midfield situation at Real Madrid as they prepare for a summer rebuild that will include replacing Casemiro.

The Brazilian midfielder joined Manchester United from Madrid in 2022, but he is now expected to leave Old Trafford as a free agent at the end of the season. With his departure looming, the club is beginning to explore potential replacements.

Filling Casemiro’s role in midfield is a key priority for United, although the club intends to strengthen the area further by signing at least two central midfielders during the upcoming transfer window.

Sources indicate that Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni are among the players United would consider as part of their planned midfield overhaul.

Uncertainty surrounding Madrid’s future squad structure has added intrigue to the situation. It is believed that one of Camavinga or Tchouaméni could potentially be available, particularly if Madrid decide to invest heavily in another central midfielder this summer.

Several high-profile names have already been linked with possible moves to the Spanish giants in 2026, including Enzo Fernández, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Adam Wharton, Rodri and Vitinha.

Such potential arrivals could create movement within Madrid’s midfield, putting the futures of Camavinga and Tchouaméni into focus.

United have long admired both players and previously explored signing them before their eventual moves to Madrid. However, both midfielders opted to join the Spanish giants at the time instead of making the switch to Old Trafford.

While United are still expected to prioritise signing at least one midfielder from within the Premier League, the club remains open to opportunities elsewhere. As the season approaches its decisive stages, their recruitment team continues to keep a close watch on developments in Spain for potential elite additions.
