Manchester City to face Liverpool in FA Cup quarter-finals as Arsenal draw Southampton

Arsenal have been drawn away to Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals, while Liverpool face a tough trip to Manchester City.
League One strugglers Port Vale will host Chelsea after their shock win over Sunderland, and West Ham will entertain Leeds following a penalty shootout victory against Brentford on Monday.
The standout tie pits Manchester City against Liverpool. Pep Guardiola’s side have already beaten the Reds twice this season, winning 3-0 at the Etihad in November and 2-1 at Anfield in February. The FA Cup clash will be the clubs’ first meeting in the competition since the 2022 semi-final, when Liverpool won 3-2 en route to lifting the trophy.
Liverpool reached the last eight with a 3-1 victory at Wolves and are eight-time FA Cup winners. City, who defeated Newcastle in the fifth round, have claimed the trophy seven times, most recently in 2023.
Arsenal, currently top of the Premier League, advanced with a 2-1 win at League One Mansfield. Mikel Arteta’s side now travel to Championship promotion hopefuls Southampton, who stunned Fulham 1-0 in the previous round.
All quarter-final ties are scheduled for the first weekend of April.
