Top seed Felix Auger-Aliassime booked a semi-final clash with Daniil Medvedev at the Dubai Tennis Championships, after defeating Jiri Lehecka 6-3, 7-6(2).

Auger-Aliassime, dominant on the speedy Dubai courts, fired down 16 aces in under two hours and was never broken by his Czech opponent. The Canadian has carried his strong form from reaching the US Open final in late 2025 into recent weeks, winning the Montpellier title and reaching the Rotterdam final.

The 2025 runner-up is aiming to go one step further in Dubai, which would also elevate him to sixth in the world rankings.

Auger-Aliassime’s serving proved far superior to Lehecka’s, allowing him to apply constant pressure. He secured two consecutive breaks late in the first set to take it 6-3. In the second set, he saved Lehecka’s only two break points in the opening game and continued to create chances, though he failed to convert four break points in the eighth game. Lehecka pushed the set to a tiebreak, but Auger-Aliassime sealed it in style with an ace.

In the other half of the draw, Daniil Medvedev powered past Jenson Brooksby 6-2, 6-1 to reach the semi-finals. The third seed, who lifted the Dubai title in 2023, served with precision, hitting 83% of first serves and winning 77% of points on them.

Medvedev broke Brooksby in the opening game and cruised through his service games, adding another break late in the first set. The second set was one-way traffic, as Medvedev broke three times to close out the match in under an hour.

Fellow Russian Andrey Rublev also advanced, cruising to a 6-2, 6-4 win over Arthur Rinderknech. The fifth seed will face the winner of the Jakub Mensik and Tallon Griekspoor matchup.
