Malta Blackball Federation launches Easter competitions with strong opening fixtures

The Malta Blackball Federation has officially launched its Easter competitions with the start of the Regional and Community Easter Trophy, which got underway with a series of intriguing matches.
In the opening fixtures held last week, San Ġwann Tiki Taka Spartans, Selmun Sports Club A and Qormi Pinto secured their places in the next round after winning their respective encounters.
San Ġwann Tiki Taka defeated Siġġiewi Montekristo 21-10, while Qormi Pinto B proved superior to Birkirkara Youngsters with a 21-15 victory. Meanwhile, Selmun Sports Club A had to battle until the very end before edging past Ħamrun 147 C in a closely contested 23-22 win.
In the Community Easter Trophy, Ħamrun 147 D booked their place in the next phase after overcoming PL Balzan B 21-17. Birżebbuġa St Peter’s A achieved the same outcome with a 21-16 win against Żebbuġ St Joseph.
Second-leg matches are scheduled to take place in the coming days, which will determine additional teams progressing to the next round of their respective competitions.
Meanwhile, the National Easter Trophy is set to commence in the first week of March, with strong anticipation among blackball enthusiasts eager to see the country’s top players in action as they compete for the prestigious title.
