It was a weekend of significant shifts in the BOV Amateur League II as league leaders Kalkara United took full advantage of their rivals’ stumbles to strengthen their grip on the top spot.

Kalkara United 3–0 Siġġiewi

Top-of-the-table Kalkara United continued their impressive form with a clinical 3–0 victory over Siġġiewi. Despite an early scare when Siġġiewi’s Mark Giusti missed a clear header, Kalkara took control in the 42nd minute when Mario Jude Domenicius finished a cross from Ryan Dalli.

The leaders doubled their advantage in the 74th minute via a Dion Fava penalty after he was fouled in the area. Lucas Alexandrini added the finishing touch in stoppage time, rounding the goalkeeper to slot into an empty net and move Kalkara to 40 points.

Dingli Swallows 2–1 Msida St. Joseph

In the standout fixture at the Sirens StadiumDingli Swallows secured a vital 2–1 win over Msida St. Joseph to overtake them in the standings. Ronaldinho Daley put Dingli ahead with a 41st-minute penalty, but Msida equalised deep in first-half stoppage time through Taiwo David Akindele. However, Daley proved to be the hero, netting his second goal in the 69th minute to secure the points and second place for the Swallows.

Santa Venera Lightnings 1–1 Għargħur

In a “bottom-of-the-table” clash, Santa Venera Lightnings and Għargħur shared the spoils in a hard-fought 1–1 draw. After a lackluster first half, Għargħur took the lead in the 49th minute through Mark Bonello Ghio. The Lightnings responded in the 56th minute when Desira Koibe pounced on a loose ball to equalise. While Santa Venera pushed for a late winner, they remain at the foot of the table with 7 points.

Għaxaq 1–0 Marsaskala

Elsewhere, Għaxaq earned a narrow but crucial 1–0 victory over Marsaskala at the Sirens Stadium. A 60th-minute strike from Dylan Camilleri was enough to separate the sides, moving Għaxaq up to 11 points and further clear of the relegation scrap.
