Thigh injury delays Gronbaek’s Bundesliga bow with HSV

Albert Gronbaek’s Bundesliga debut for Hamburger SV has been postponed after the Danish attacking midfielder sustained a thigh injury in training.
The 24-year-old suffered a problem in his right thigh during a recent session, the club confirmed on Wednesday following an MRI scan. HSV said Gronbaek is “expected to be sidelined for a few weeks,” ruling him out of Saturday’s clash with Union Berlin.
The Denmark international joined the club on loan from Stade Rennes at the end of January for the remainder of the season and had been pushing to make his first appearance as HSV look to climb from their current position of 11th in the table.
Gronbaek’s setback adds to Hamburg’s growing injury list. Midfielder Sambi Lokonga remains unavailable, while attacking options Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit and Fabio Baldé are also sidelined.
