Fermín López signs new Barcelona deal until 2031

Barcelona midfielder Fermín López has signed a new contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2031, the Spanish champions confirmed on Friday.
The 22-year-old, who came through the club’s famous La Masia academy, has agreed to extend and improve his current deal by a further two years, securing his future at Camp Nou until June 30, 2031. The club announced that the formal signing will take place in the coming days.
Since making his first-team debut during the 2023/24 season, López has established himself as a key member of Barcelona’s squad. The energetic attacking midfielder has made 113 appearances across all competitions, scoring 29 goals and playing an important role in the team’s recent success.
His consistent performances have also earned him regular call-ups to the Spanish national team, where he featured prominently during their triumphant EURO 2024 campaign.
López now joins a growing list of core players who have committed their futures to the club, including Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Gavi, Pedri, and Pau Cubarsí, all of whom have signed new deals over the past year.
With his long-term future secured, López will now turn his focus to helping Hansi Flick’s side extend their lead at the top of LaLiga when Barcelona face Elche on Saturday. A victory would see them move four points clear at the summit.
