Bank of Valletta, in collaboration with the Malta Basketball Association, has announced the BOV Basketball Players of the Month for December 2025, recognising outstanding performances in the Men’s 1st Division, Women’s 1st Division and the BOV Amateur League. The honours went to Eugene Campbell of Valletta, Olivia Wikström of Luxol and Nikša Živković of Depiro Hoops.

The custom-made trophies were presented by Bank of Valletta Chief Operations Officer Ernest Agius.

Valletta guard Eugene Campbell enjoyed a hugely impressive first month in Maltese basketball. The 30-year-old, who stands at 190cm, averaged an extraordinary 39.37 minutes per game and scored 103 points across three matches, making him the top scorer in the Men’s 1st Division for December. Campbell also drew an average of 6.67 fouls per game, underlining his aggressive and athletic style of play, as well as his growing leadership role on the court. Valletta coach Harry Savaya collected the award on his behalf, as Campbell was unavailable for the presentation.

In the Women’s 1st Division, Luxol’s Olivia Wikström claimed her second BOV Player of the Month award of the season after another dominant spell. Wikström led the league with 96 points in three games, topped both the steals and fouls-suffered charts, and contributed 15 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Her efficiency was also reflected in her shooting, converting 73% from the free-throw line and an impressive 48% from beyond the arc, once again highlighting her all-round influence in Luxol’s continued strong performances.

Depiro Hoops’ Nikša Živković was named BOV Amateur League Player of the Month following a series of consistent displays. The reigning BOV Fair Play Award winner averaged 16 points per game for a total of 48 points in three matches and registered a 77% success rate from the free-throw line. His composure, efficiency and team-first approach have continued to make him a key figure for Depiro Hoops.

The BOV Player of the Month Awards celebrate excellence, sportsmanship and positive impact within Maltese basketball. Through this initiative, Bank of Valletta reaffirms its commitment to supporting the growth of the sport while recognising athletes who exemplify dedication and high performance.
