The local football schedule has been significantly disrupted this week, with several matches postponed due to a combination of adverse weather conditions and scheduling conflicts.

Kercem Stadium Fixtures Postponed Due to Weather Damage

Both Gozo Football League 2nd Division matches scheduled for Saturday, January 24, at the Kercem Stadium were postponed to a later date.

The decision was made due to the unavailability of the stadium following damage caused by recent adverse weather conditions, which rendered the pitch unplayable.

The affected fixtures were:

• Sannat Lions vs. Gharb Rangers (12:45 pm kick-off)
• Oratory Youths vs. Zebbug Rovers (3:00 pm kick-off)

Meridianbet FA Trophy Round of 16 Matches Rescheduled

The Malta Football Association (MFA) also announced the postponement of two key Meridianbet FA Trophy Round of 16 matches.

Following communication from Malta Premier to reschedule the league game between Gżira United and Birkirkara, the following trophy fixtures have been pushed back to a later date yet to be communicated:

• Tuesday, January 27: Birkirkara vs. Pieta’ Hotspurs
• Wednesday, January 28: Gżira United vs. Hibernians
