Malta women aim to end UEFA Qualifying campaign on a positive note against Türkiye

The Malta Women’s National Team will conclude its UEFA Women’s European Qualifiers League B campaign on Tuesday evening when it welcomes Türkiye to the Centenary Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00, with the match being broadcast live on TVMSport+.
Despite a campaign marked by a demanding group and a number of injury setbacks, Head Coach Manuela Tesse’s side will be eager to end the qualifiers on a positive note in front of the home supporters.
Malta heads into the fixture following Friday’s match against Switzerland, continuing to focus on the long-term development of the national team while providing valuable international experience to emerging players.
Ahead of the final qualifier, Tesse highlighted the progress made by her squad despite the challenges encountered throughout the campaign.
“Even though results have not always gone our way, I believe we have shown good football and demonstrated our identity against strong opposition. This group continues to grow and gain valuable experience at international level.”
Squad Updates
Malta’s preparations have once again been disrupted by injuries, with Haley Bugeja and Maya Lucia both withdrawing from the national team camp. As a result, the pair will miss Tuesday’s encounter against Türkiye.
They have been replaced by promising youngsters Amy Catania and Ema Micallef, who receive their first opportunity to experience the senior national team environment.
Their inclusion reflects Malta’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of talent, with several young players having played an increasingly important role throughout the current international cycle.
Final Test
Tuesday’s fixture offers Malta one final chance to demonstrate the progress made during the UEFA Women’s European Qualifiers League B campaign. Against one of the strongest teams in the group, the hosts will be aiming to deliver a competitive performance and finish their qualifying journey on a positive note with the backing of the Centenary Stadium crowd.

Tickets for the match will be available exclusively from the Centenary Stadium ticket booths on matchday.
