Maltese clubs discovered their opponents for the opening rounds of the 2026/27 UEFA competitions following the draws held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, on Tuesday.

YoHealth Malta Premier champions Floriana FC were involved in the UEFA Champions League First Qualifying Round draw, while Marsaxlokk FC and Hamrun Spartans FC learned their opponents in the UEFA Conference League.

Floriana Draw Shamrock Rovers

Floriana will begin their UEFA Champions League campaign against Irish champions Shamrock Rovers FC.

The Greens face a challenging tie against the experienced Republic of Ireland side, with the two-legged encounter scheduled to be played on 7/8 July and 14/15 July. UEFA will confirm the exact match dates, venues and kick-off times in the coming days.

Conference League Tests for Marsaxlokk and Hamrun

In the UEFA Conference League First Qualifying Round, Marsaxlokk were paired with Armenian outfit FC Pyunik, while Hamrun Spartans will take on Faroese club NSÍ Runavík.

Both ties will be played over two legs on 9 and 16 July, with UEFA expected to announce further fixture details at a later stage.

Valletta Await Second Qualifying Round Draw

Meanwhile, Meridianbet FA Trophy winners Valletta FC will enter the UEFA Conference League at the Second Qualifying Round stage.

The Citizens will discover their European opponents when the draw takes place on Wednesday, 17 June.

The draws mark the start of another European campaign for Malta’s representatives, with Floriana aiming to progress in the Champions League and Marsaxlokk, Hamrun Spartans and Valletta looking to make their mark in the Conference League.
