The Aquatic Sports Association of Malta (ASA) announces that Mr Milan Cirovic has resigned from his positions as Senior Men’s National Team Head Coach and Technical Director of Maltese Men’s Water Polo.

Mr Cirovic’s decision has been received with sincere regret by the ASA Executive Committee, which wishes to express its deepest gratitude for his exceptional contribution to Maltese water polo throughout his tenure. Under his leadership, the national programme continued to make significant progress, achieving historic milestones and further enhancing Malta’s reputation on the international stage.

Since his appointment, Mr Cirovic has played a pivotal role in the development of Malta’s water polo structures. In addition to leading the Senior Men’s National Team, he has made a substantial impact on the growth of youth programmes and the strengthening of the sport’s technical framework across the country.

ASA President Karl Izzo commented:

“While we fully respect Milan’s decision, it is one that we accept with genuine sadness. His influence on Maltese water polo has been profound. Through his professionalism, commitment, and technical expertise, he has helped elevate standards across our national teams and contributed to some of the most successful periods in our recent history. On behalf of the ASA Executive, our athletes, coaches, staff, and the wider water polo community, I extend our heartfelt thanks to Milan for his outstanding service and wish him every success in his future endeavours.”
