South Africa make change to final World Cup warm-up clash with Jamaica

Bafana Bafana’s friendly against Jamaica will take place on Saturday behind closed doors, the South African Football Association (SAFA) has confirmed.
The match will kick off at 15:00 Mexico time (23:00 South Africa time) and will not be broadcast on television.
Head coach Hugo Broos had initially indicated the game would be played on Friday, but South Africa’s arrival in Mexico was delayed by 24 hours, which appears to have led to the rescheduling.
The fixture serves as the team’s final warm-up before their opening match of the 2026 World Cup against co-hosts Mexico in Mexico City next Thursday (21:00 SA time).
Broos has suggested he will field his strongest possible lineup for the match, although he is monitoring a hamstring concern for left-back Aubrey Modiba, who could be rested.
Jamaica enter the game after a mixed run of results, beating India 2-0 before suffering a 3-0 defeat to Nigeria in their recent international fixtures.
