High-Scoring Start to the 2026 Malta Beach Soccer League

The 2026 Malta Men’s Beach Soccer League got underway with an action-packed start at Birżebbuġa Bay, where six matches produced a remarkable total of 70 goals.
Ħamrun SC opened their campaign with an emphatic 11-0 victory over Costa Viola. Weverton Gomes and Matos Wescley each netted a hat-trick, while Maicon and Antonello Demanuele contributed two goals apiece. Yessous Camilleri completed the scoring.
Spartans and Sliema Beach Soccer shared the points in an entertaining 4-4 draw. Spartans’ goals came through Andre Joe Cutajar (2), Shalon Diacono and Samuel Saldanha, while Sliema replied through Lee Joe Schembri (2), Koiba Desire and Brandon Bray.
Phoenix FC began their season with an 8-5 win over W/A Agency. Cristian Urbina was the standout performer with four goals, while Kayne Haber scored a hat-trick and Matthew Curmi added another. For W/A Agency, Mohamed Ahmad scored three times, with Mohamed Amri and Wisam El Zaredi also finding the net.
In another high-scoring encounter, W/A Agency edged Costa Viola 9-8.
La Playa de Arena made an impressive start to their campaign with a commanding 9-0 victory over Phoenix FC. Daryl Micallef led the scoring with a hat-trick, while Sheldon Mizzi and Dale Tabone each scored twice. Karl Caruana and Daniel Camenzuli also got on the scoresheet.
Spartans continued their strong run of form by defeating Ballun FC 10-2. Fabrizio Zammit scored five goals, Samuel Saldanha added three, and Dale Valletta contributed one, while an own goal by Nigel Joe Borg completed the tally. Ballun FC’s goals were scored by Ryan Spencer and Saul Figueroa.
